The Almond is a traditional Sporades villa with white lime-washed walls and a traditional wooden beamed ceiling. The entrance opens onto a living room with underfloor heating and sofas either side of a central wood-burning fireplace. A lime-washed wooden staircase leads up to a mezzanine area stocked with board games and books.
Adjacent to the living area is a modern kitchen with Bosch oven and microwave, ceramic induction hob, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The indoor marble dining table seats six.
The living room opens to a shaded balcony with outside table and chairs, a perfect place to enjoy breakfast coffee or an evening drink overlooking the Aegean sea below.
All doors and windows have integrated mosquito netting. The main staircase leads downstairs to the two bedrooms, two bathrooms and the pool area with outdoor kitchenette.
Both bedrooms are on the lower floor of the villa, traditionally a cooler environment. In place of unsustainable air-conditioning, the houses have been carefully designed to benefit from natural cooling with air source heat pumps and ventilation. Each bedroom has additional ceiling fans if required.
The Master Bedroom has a super-king bed with French doors that open to the private north-facing terrace. The ensuite bathroom has a double sink, and bath with overhead shower.
Bedroom 2 can be made up as a double (super-king) or twin room. French doors open to the north-facing terrace and windows overlook the pool area. Bathroom 2 is a shower room with a large washbasin and loo and is located off the corridor close to the pool.
All windows and French doors have traditional wooden shutters offering near-perfect blackout and integrated mosquito netting. All linens and towels for the room and pool are provided. Mid-week housekeeping and linen change. Additional daily housekeeping can be organised for an additional charge.
The north-facing terrace has panoramic views over the Aegean sea. Landscaped with olive trees and native planting, there is an outdoor covered kitchenette with sink, fridge and washing machine and a shaded seating area perfect for lunches. The pool and mountain side are gently lit at night, providing a wonderful ambience for relaxing long dinners at home.
There are four sun loungers aligning the pool.
KINDLY NOTE: Although we have enjoyed many happy holidays here with very small children running riot, due to the terrain, the villa may not suitable for children under the age of six years.
